Raw Mango Rice Recipe | What is the Recipe of Raw Mango Rice

Ingredients

  • 3 cup Cooked Rice
  • 1 cup Grated raw mango
  • 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed

For the seasoning

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp Bengal gram/channa dal
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Urad dal
  • 2 Red chillies (break it into 2 pieces)
  • Hing -a pinch
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • 1/4 cup Peanuts
  • Curry leaves - few

Instructions

  1. Fry peanuts separately and keep it aside. 

  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add bengal gram, urad dal, red chillies, green chillies and hing.
  3. When dal turns golden brown, add peanuts, turmeric powder, salt needed and curry leaves.
  4. Add grated mangoes and mix well to combine with the spices. Cook for just 2-3 seconds and switch off the flame.
  5. Add cooked rice and mix gently using a fork taking care not to break the rice. Check for salt, add if required.
  6. Enjoy mango rice with chips or papads as side dish.
