Aloo Chana Chaat is a popular and flavorful Indian street food that combines boiled potatoes (aloo) and chickpeas (chana) with a variety of spices, chutneys, and toppings. This chaat is tangy, spicy, and absolutely delicious, making it a favorite snack for many. It’s a great balance of textures, from the soft potatoes and chickpeas to the crunch of sev and the creaminess of yogurt.
The ingredients for aloo chana chaat are boiling potatoes, white chickpeas, onion, tomato, spices, and a variety of chutneys. It is a spicy, tangy, sweet chaat. You can eat it whenever you want as a satisfying and healthy snack.
It is not too difficult to put together this chaat snack if you still have some leftover boiled chickpeas. Typically, I always boil extra chickpeas and store them in the refrigerator after making Chana Masala.
I make the chaat chutneys a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator when I make any chaat snack. For a few weeks, the tamarind and red chilli chutney store well in the refrigerator. The green chutney, however, keeps nicely for one to two days.
A salad can be created using the aloo chana chaat recipe. Simply add some grated carrots, French beans that have been blanched, beets, and zucchini to the chaat.
